Reflexology And It's Benefits

The immense interest and utility of alternate medicine methods have brought the term called "Reflexology" to light. Reflexology refers to the branch of alternate medicines which deals with relieving a person from pain and diseases by mere application of pressure on particular body parts like feet, hands, ears, etc. the goal is to give benefits to other body parts or even improving the general well-being. It was developed by Eunice D. Ingham in 1930s-1940s.

The principle that Reflexology follows is that the reflexes in feet, ears, hands and their referred areas correspond to every gland and organ of human body. The pros of Reflexology are that it relieves tension, muscle strain and improves blood circulation on the body. It also yields betterment of general health. All these benefits are done without any chemicals, crèmes, lotions, ointments or drugs. In treatment through Reflexology, a chart is made; this chart reflects different body parts corresponding to different zones on feet and hands. This map is followed while continuing the treatment.

The division of reflexes zones is that left foot or hand corresponds to the left side of the body and the right side likewise. The fingers and toes reflect the neck and heaad respectively. The ball of foot corresponds to the chest and upper back and chest in addition to heart and lungs. In the middle of the foot is represented as waistline.

The jury is till on about the validity of the theory on which Reflexology is based, yet there are many who have been benefited.
